[attr="class","text"]“Sure cuts a realistic image.” The humid jungle feels as real as it could be. From the heat to the buzzing swell of insect sound and creature life that rustles in the leafy brush. All of it bright and colorful. For a simulation, it’s impressive.[break][break]

At least until the ear-splitting screeching starts.[break][break]

“What is that?” He winces as his hands slap over his ears and he looks over at Greyson. Of course it couldn’t be a simple traipse through the jungle, but of course it wouldn’t be.[break][break]

Hands still planted on his head, he tries to elbow his way through the foliage to follow the sound to the source.

[attr="class","text"]He doesn’t have to be told twice. As soon as the Iron Valiant’s blade moves, sunlight catching on the metal with a glaring sheen, Lam does exactly as told. Crouching, he keeps his shinx contained in the cage of his arms.[break][break]

“Hell of a range, there,” he mutters after the forest is cleared around them, his head popping up once the coast is clear.[break][break]

Lam looks back up at Greyson, “Way better.” His ears are still ringing a bit, though, and suddenly it all feels a bit too quiet.[break][break]

And then the noise of the ecosystem returns to a normal swell–not that it lasts long.[break][break]

“What now?” His brow furrows as the light dims, the creak and groan of the world condensing and growing concerningly louder. His glance tilts up, only for him to balk and point at the big ol’ hand, and the flap of weathered book pages. “Uh, dude?”[break][break]

Are they about to get smushed? They’re totally about to get smushed.
